Q50

A day that starts outside — morning air, a pressed shirt, somewhere to be. Q50 was composed to move through it, daylight into evening, without changing its mind.

Q50 opens with three fruits — pear, bergamot, mandarin — clean, never sweet. The pear leads and the citrus keeps it moving. The opening is integral, not a prelude: the fruit stays present long after most tops would have stepped aside.

Then the roses — Bulgarian and Turkish, side by side, slightly different from each other, with orange flower brightening the space between them. The heart is rose-heavy without being rose-led; the flowers share the room. The 50 is the composition code the formula carried on the perfumer's bench, kept on the bottle.

Underneath, vanilla absolute, sandalwood and akigalawood give it a foundation — the akigalawood is the newer material, Cambodian, with smoke in it. By the dry-down the fruit and the roses have settled into wood. Q50 argues, gently, that rose belongs on men too.

Q50 is a daytime perfume that carries into evening, and a year-round one — strongest in spring and autumn. It lands at work, a gathering, transitional weather that can't decide. The wood base lasts the day; a few touches at the pulse points are enough.
